PLATFORM FLIP FLOPS ARE BACK

As summer begins, we see people transition into their summer footwear, and one item is making a comeback, platform flip-flops! The iconic platform flip flops were late popular during the late 90s and 2000s as a shoe trend loved by many celebrities at the time. While flips flops are considered a fashion eye sore, these platform versions find their way back every couple of years and are a shoe that has been around since Ancient Greece times.

Platform shoes began to become popularized from the 1960 to 1970s. After about 20 years, the platform flips flops appeared on everyone from the halls of high schools to the red carpet; now, 20 years later, they have returned. These shoes bring up memories of a more colorful and simpler time, but like Crocs, these shoes are quite decisive in fashion. Many brands have joined in on the trends, from fast fashion brands to designer brands.

Kendall Jenner is one celebrity who has not shied away from this love-or-hate trend and has been spotted multiple times in the shoes. She has been spotted multiple times in a black pair of Dries Van Noten platform sandals. Many brands are taking notice and have dropped their own take on the 2000s footwear, like Tory Burch, Prada, Coach, Gucci, and many more. With the popularity of platform tennis shoes, sandals, heels, and boots, there is no surprise that platform flip-flops were destined to make a comeback.
