Following the cancellation of her Spotify exclusive podcast, rumors spread that Meghan Markle was set to partner with the French fashion house she has worn on numerous occasions. After days of rumors, a spokesperson for Dior told WWD that no contract negotiations or recent contact has taken place with the Duchess of Sussex.
Just this week, it was announced that the partnership between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and Spotify was going to be canceled. This comes after the couple produced just 12 episodes during their year long, $20 million contract. Upset about this lack of content, Spotify Senior Podcast Executive, Bill Simmons called them “Fucking Grifters” on his own podcast.
The narrative being spun by news outlets was that Markle’s talent agency was aiming to offset her and her husband’s current negative publicity surrounding the podcast news and the strained relationship with the royal family by securing a fashion deal.

Markle had been dressed by Dior on several occasions, including at the late Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee and for the Monarch’s funeral last September. Prince Harry also donned a Dior suit for the recent coronation of King Charles.
It looked as if Markle could be the next Dior ambassador as this week the fashion house had added a series of new partners to represent the brand in Thailand. However, this is now confirmed to be untrue, and Markle will not be joining the likes of famous ambassadors like Robert Pattinson and Johnny Depp.
