Oscar award winning actress Angelina Jolie has announced a new fashion venture through Instagram. The film star, who has previously owned a winery business, posted May 17th to unveil her plan for this fashion house.
The Girl, Interrupted actress posted the above photo on her Instagram, providing some context in the caption. Jolie wrote, "I’m starting something new today—a collective where everyone can create. Atelier Jolie is a place for creative people to collaborate with a skilled and diverse family of expert tailors, pattern makers and artisans from around the world. It stems from my appreciation and deep respect for the many tailors and makers I’ve worked with over the years, a desire to make use of the high-quality vintage material and deadstock fabric already available, and also to be part of a movement to cultivate more self-expression. I’m looking forward to growing this with you."
Angelina elaborates further on Atelier Jolie's website, stating her appreciation for tailors, who "make the difference and who I truly love creating with." This website is an all-in-one hub for owners of vintage fabric and tailors across the world to collaborate and make unique pieces. Now, in this new kind of fashion house, Jolie is letting the buyers design their own garments.
